Angola: Municipalisation in Health Sector Improved Services - Minister

Luanda — The Angolan minister of Health , José Van-Dúnem, Thursday in Luanda said that the municipalisation programme in the sector has improved the service of hospitals toward the communities, specially related to the primary care interventions in most districts.

The minister said so when speaking at the meeting with MPs intended to review and discuss in the specialty the State Budget for 2013.

José Van-Dúnem said that the programme brought progress by moving the responsibilities and financial resources for each district.

"According to him, the national health development plan should be implemented at the level of each district.

He added that this implies attribution of programme as well as allocation of funds, the key elements for the success of municipalisation.

The minister said that the system improved the districts at the level of the living quality of the families.

To improve the municipalisation system the Finance ministry transfers every month 7.5 million kwanza to the account of the administrations for the primary care at the health level as well as other services.
