Mogadishu — Gunmen have shot dead a journalist with Shabelle media network in Wadajir district earlier this morning.

Abdihared Osman Adan was shot as he was leaving from his house on his way to his work place at Shabelle media network. He was shot several times in the upper and lower parts of his body. He was rushed to Madina hospital where he has died of his wounds.

May Allah have mercy on his soul, Abdihared is survived a wife and two children and his wife is currently caring their second child in the earlier days after of birth

Shabelle media network is strongly condemning the killing of Mr. Abdihared who has been an outstanding colleague and very active journalist in both the TV and Radio of the network.

Shabelle, which has a fearless and independent editorial, has taken many precautionary steps to train its staff how to be vigilant against the assassinations but unfortunately the evil groups who eagerly want to silence the independent media in Somalia seem not to be renouncing their violent acts.

Finally, the network call on Somali secuirty forces to work for a safer enviroment where journalsts can operate free from danger.
