Gambia: Lamin Kanteh Wins NAYCONF 'Young Entrepreneur' Award

Lamin Kanteh, the manager and CEO of Menmoir Group, was awarded a trophy for the 'young entrepreneur of the year' at the just concluded NAYCONF held in Bansang.

Speaking at a press conference held at his office in Wellingara, Lamin Kanteh told reporters that winning this award was not a surprise to him because he has been supporting and employing his fellow youths. He disclosed that he has employed seven young Gambians in his studio and he is also training five others in art work.

He said that he is a youth activist and a volunteer and has worked and supported many organisations and networks. Kanteh revealed that in 2009, the national organising committee of NAYCONF contracted him to print NAYCONF Daily newspaper that was published during the weeklong event, which was successful. He finally expressed delight at receiving the award.
