Tunisia: No Local Among Hostages in Tiguentourine Attack, Says Foreign Ministry

Tunis — The Algerian authorities have denied news passed on by the Algerian press saying that there is a Tunisian national among the hostages taken after the attack last Wednesday by a terrorist group against a gas field in Tiguentourine (40 km of In Amenas, Governorate of Illizi).

In a statement released on Thursday, the Foreign Ministry said it had kept in touch, in coordination with Tunisia's Embassy in Algiers and consulate in Tébessa, with the Algerian authorities and the oil companies employing Tunisian engineers and technicians to enquire about the Tunisian community living in that region.
