The stocks on the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) closed the week on a high on Jan. 18 recording a market turnover of sh132mn up from sh15mn recorded on Jan. 17.
The market was dominated by Stanbic that traded 5mn shares at a turnover of sh125mn at a flat share price of sh25.
Other counters that recorded trading were Umeme, UCL, NVL and Baroda. The Baroda counter traded 19, 215 shares at a turnover of sh4mn at sh250 per share, NVL traded 1, 630 shares at a turnover of sh978, 000 at sh600 per share, UCL traded sh 8, 391 shares at a turnover of sh293, 685 at sh35 per share.
Umeme continued to record share price volatilities. The Utility Company traded only 5, 000 shares at a turnover of sh1.3mn with its share price averaging between sh275 and sh280.
Trading resumes on Monday, Jan. 21.
