Angola: New Brazilian Defence Attache Accredited

The Ministry of National Defence (MINDEN) Friday in Luanda accredited Colonel Gerson de Moura Freitas to the post of Defence attaché at the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Angola.

The ceremony was chaired by the State Secretary of National Defence, Gaspar Santos Rufino.

Attended the event senior officials of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and defence attaches from several countries accredited to Angola, including the US , Congo, Cuba, Zambia, Italy, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, South Africa, Namibia, France and Russia.

The Secretary of State, who expressed welcome to the new attaché, manifested, on behalf of the Ministry of National Defence, the availability to work with the Brazilian official, taking into account the need to increase the cooperation in defence field between the two countries.

In his turn, the attaché who welcomed the remarks, pledged to continue the ongoing work, under the cooperation in the defence field between the two countries.

Col. Gerson de Moura Freitas, was born on 11 April, 1964, in Rio de Janeiro and joined the army in 1980.
