Angola: 40 People Die of TB in Bié Province

Kuito — At least 40 people died of tuberculosis in central Bié province,throughout 2012, Angop has learnt.

A health source said that the deaths result from the 1,526 cases recorded in the mentioned period, says the provincial supervisor of the programme of fight against the illness, Isaias José Chicapa Lemos.

The above mentioned figure represents 291 more cases with regard to 2011, Angop has learnt.

He said that 704 cases are considered as TB positive and 546 another ones and extra-lung tuberculosis.
