South Africa: Fernando Neves, the Man of the Match South Africa-Cap Verde

After 90 minutes of play and both the Bafana Bafana nor Cape Verde scored a goal, because none of the teams gave for each opponent a chance to score.

Fernando Neves Captain of Cape Verde was the best player for the match who encouraged his team on the field, imparted some enforcement in his players and brought togetherness. In fact the Cape Verdeans played very well which looks as if they have participated in the African tournament before.

Cape Verde's Fernando Varela, left, fights for the ball with South Africa's Lehlohonolo Majoro during the opening match of the African Cup of Nations. It was end-to-end stuff as Banbanco's corner for Cape Verde was flicked toward the back post by Fernando Neves to Ryan Mendes, but the striker couldn't keep his effort down and the ball soared over the bar.
