Gabon: Eritrean Merhawi Kudus Keeps His Triumph in Uphill Competition in Tour De Gabon

Asmara — Eritrean Merhawi Kudus has keept his triumph in uphill race in the fifth tournament of Tropicale Amissa Bongo - Tour de Gabon 2013, during which challenging competition involving 191 Km. a heavy rain shower was witnessed.

Belgian Robert Frédérique seized the first rank succeeded by while Italian Palini Andrea and Belgian Gért Dockx.

The majority of the Eritrean National Team members fell down though they managed to catch up their competitors. Merhawi's fallover did not cause loss of points as it happened 3 Km. before the finishing line. Hence, Eritrea remains leader in uphill competition.

The sixth Tour de Gabon tournament covering 145 Km. would continue today.
