Tunisia: UGTT S-G Stresses Urgent Need to Reach Political Consensus

Tunis — Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Hassine Abassi stressed the urgent need to reach political consensus in the upcoming stage in Tunisia.

Speaking at a meeting held Saturday in Tunis on the celebration of the 67th anniversary of the creation of UGTT, Abassi emphasised the need to boost the initiative of national dialogue launched by the labour organisation on October 16, 2012 to draw up a clear roadmap in order to "reach consensus for the transition period likely to ensure the holding of transparent and democratic elections away from any forms of violence and political tension"...
