Sudan: Militiamen Rape Displaced Woman in Turns, West Darfur

Abu Surouj — Pro-government militiamen raped and severely injured a displaced woman from camp Abu Surouj, in Sirba locality, West Darfur on Thursday, 17 January, an activist told Radio Dabanga.

He said that a group of eight women had left the camp to collect firewood when the armed group ambushed them.

While the other seven women managed to escape, the alleged perpetrators caught the eight victim and raped her in turns.

The activist urged authorities to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
