Kenya: New Dance Troupe Revisits Ugly Post Poll Violence

'Trip en masse Kenya' held their first performance at the Sarakasi Dome in Nairobi on Wednesday.

The contemporary dance production aims to give a 'cultural reflection' on the tragic events five years ago, in which approximately 1,500 Kenyans lost their lives during the post-election violence.

The group won an award for best dance performance in the Netherlands in 2011. The dance show aims to provide reflection on the tragic events that took place and contribute to promoting peace and reconciliation between different communities in Kenya.

'Trip en masse Kenya' is a collaboration between the Sarakasi Trust in Kenya and Dansgroep Amsterdam. The project is supported by the Netherlands Embassy in Kenya, Tejchevé Foundation and the Performing Arts Fund Netherlands.
