Kenya: Police Probe Politician's Murder

POLICE in Kuria are liaising with Tanzanian security officers in investigations to unearth the killers of an ODM county representative aspirant on Sunday night.

Kuria West deputy police chief Simiyu Walukano said they are yet to arrest any suspect over the murder of Peter Masese of Makerero County Assembly Ward.

"We have contacted the Tanzanian police in Sirare after culprits who murdered the politician fled into the country on a motorbike bearing the country's number plate," Simiyu said.

The victim's family said Masese was killed at around 9pm after a campaign tour in his compound at Isebania town. One of the attackers had knocked at his door and called Mases out where they had an exchange before he was shot 11 times. The attackers fled into the night but stole nothing from the victim.
