Kenya: Confusion Continues to Mar Party Nominations

Voting has not started at the Mbita Polling station on day two of the nomination exercise. There are reports that ballot papers were found thrown outside the station this morning and there was no sign of the returning officer. MIlly Lwanga NCIC Vice chair is monitoring the nomination at Mbita.

Meanwhile party nomination results from have already began streaming in from various counties. In Baringo County Gideon Moi has clinched the Kanu senator ticket. In Siaya County, James Orengo has been cleared to run for senator on an ODM ticket . Other senate ticket winners include Charity Ngilu of Narc who will be running against Wiper's David Musila for the Kitui senate seat.

ODM chairman Henry Kosgey has also won the ODM senator ticket for Nandi county while Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula will be running for senator in Bungoma county.

For governors, ODM's Evans Kidero will battle it out with FPK's Philip Kisia for Nairobi governor. Margaret Kamar has won the ODM governor ticket in Uasin Gishu. While former government spokesman Dr Alfred Mutua has clinched the Wiper governor ticket in Machakos county.
