Kenya: Makueni Five Nabbed Over Wiper Ballots

Police in Makueni have arrested five people in connection with WDM nominations irregularities in Makueni county.

The five, three women and two men, were nabbed at Nthangu Primary School with ballots marked in favour of some candidates.

Nthangu is not a designated polling centre. Makueni OCPD Joshua ole Leina said a presiding officer, two clerks and two agents were found with the ballots after police were tipped off.

The ballots were in favour of assistant minister Gideon Ndambuki for senator, MP Peter Kiilu who is defending the seat, women's representative Jane Kitundu and Wote county assembly representative Joseph Musau. Leina said the five were held briefly and released. The ballots are held at the police station.
