Kenya: Kajiado TNA Aspirants Cry Foul

Two Kajiado East TNA parliament aspirants yesterday accused the party officials who had been tasked with overseeing the elections of being used.

The aspirants alleged the officials were hand-picked by their rival, who has links with the local IEBC official.

Rhonnest Ntayia and William Kirrinkai complained the primaries were already rigged ahead of the nominations. "We cannot expect fairness in such a situation," said Ntayia.

TNA's Kajiado county organising secretary James Sapuro admitted there was a problem in the selection of clerks and returning officers. He accused the party's coordinator, a "Mr Mark of playing dirty games."

"It is true there is a big problem ahead of tomorrow's (today) nomination because we are aware that the coordinator was working very closely with a Kajiado East aspirant and a local IEBC official, who a relative, to pick the clerks and returning officers. We have attempted to iron the problem out but some aspirants are not trusting the said officials," said Sapuro.
