I'm a firm believer in paying workers well. As long as they are making the money, the appropriate rewards should follow. Unfortunately I only really have a say when it comes to my personal employees; ie my house-girl and heaven knows she doesn't deserve more money! But it is with this belief that I don't understand how Arsenal cannot strike a deal with Theo Walcott.
Shouldn't it be plain and simple? What is your value to the team? How much is that worth? What are the pros and cons of him leaving Arsenal? What are the pros and cons of him going to a direct competitor like Manchester United?
What are the odds of him leading United to a title? Okay now I'm getting angry and I'm no longer talking about Theo but reflecting upon the complete idiocracy that allow us to sell Robin Van Persie and to sell him to Manchester United.
But I'm seeing déjà vu in the Theo case. It's as if mnager Arsene Wenger and the board doubt his contribution. And then when Theo leaves, Wenger will begin to praise him freely as he does to RVP these days.
Gee! RVP had to leave for you to realise what value he was to the team. Kwani Sir Alex was dumb to want to buy him so badly? NKT!
My real anger is because I can tell the future. Watching Jack Wilshere on Wednesday night was a thrill but it also created fear in me. Wilshere is slowly becoming the player he once was before his long sabbatical.
He was talented and fearless; and determined as ever to succeed. I was so happy when it was him that scored for Arsenal because it is he who literally did much of the work throughout the game.
But if his current form continues, there is no doubt in my mind that big clubs will come calling in the summer. Why do we need to wait for that to happen to reward him? Wilshere is currently paid £60,000 (Sh8.3m) a week.
It would be so easy for another club, not necessarily a bigger one than Arsenal, to pay him more. We would gain more brownie points by upping his salary before he asks us to. But we all know that will never ever happen! Sigh!
Now who at Gor Mahia went on to sign "Omondinho?" While it's clear to see the Brazilian is talented, his fitness level is an embarrassment to the Kenyan Premier League.
Firstly Gor should hire nutrionist Wanjiku Wairia-Lumula to control his diet and then my gym instructor Christine Anindo (she can be mean) to get him back to fitness.
Also the Gor hierachy should have realized there is room for just one superstar at Gor and that superstar is Zdravko Logarusic. It's clear that he's not only unimpressed by "Omondinho's" form, but he's also not happy with the attention he's getting.
And I agree. There are players who have proven their worth to Gor like Rama Salim and Dan Sserunkuma who we could be talking about. Anyway it's just like Gor to do that and now I'm so looking forward to the KPL season ahead.
