TNA nominations in Gatundu South were yesterday delayed for six hours due to some ballot papers missing photographs of two aspirants.

Nairobi lawyer Joakim Kamere and business consultant GG Kagombe's photos were missing besides their names.

The names of two other parliamentary hopefuls, Jossy Ngugi and Julius Chege, appeared in both the parliamentary and county representative ballot papers.

Ngugi was listed as an aspirant for the Kiganjo county representative while Chege's name appeared in the Nge'nda county ward ballot papers. Kiambu TNA coordinator Gladys Mwangi held a two hour meeting with the aspirants at the Gatundu Education Hall.

The aspirants signed an agreement which was drawn by Kamere and witnessed by Mwangi where they agreed to hold the polls at noon. Mwangi assured TNA supporters that the party does not favour any of the aspirants.

Gatundu South has been represented by Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta who is now the Jubilee Alliance presidential candidate.

In Thika Town, parliamentary hopeful Alice Ng'ang'a claimed there was a move to rig her out of the TNA nomination when it got under way yesterday.

Ng'ang'a complained that the list of party presiding officers had been tampered with and that her photo was missing from the ballot papers.

"We had earlier agreed that all the presiding officers be swapped so that we have people manning areas where they do not come from. The same people we had rejected are however here," she said at the Thika Municipal Stadium.

In Juja, one of the county representative aspirants confiscated the TNA members register and disappeared with it leaving election officials and voters stranded. Voting had not started by midday as police were called to hunt down the aspirant who reportedly drove off with the voter records.
