Kenya: Pollyns Loses As Dalmas, Gumbo Triumph

FORMER Nyakach MP Pollyns Ochieng is one of the biggest casualties in ODM nominations in Nyanza. Ochieng lost to lawyer Awuor Aduma, who garnered 12,562 votes against his 6,241 in the hotly contested nominations.

In Rarieda, former MP Nicholas Gumbo clinched the party ticket after garnering 13,806 votes against his closest rival Netto Adhola, who got 7,045 and Joseph Okweso's 3,175.

In Bondo, Gideon Ochanda clinched the ticket after getting 11, 383 votes against Stephen Ondiek's 8, 380 and Agutu Nyagun's 3, 762. Ochanda had stepped down from the Siaya governor race.

In the newly created Ugunja constituency, James Wandayi won with 10,345 votes. He was followed by Joseph Aluru with 5,288 votes and Tom Nduku with 1,693. In Rangwe, Everest Okampo triumphed with 4,399 votes against Gerge Onero's 2,854 and Dancun Ojwang's 2,808.

Public Service minister Dalmas Otieno clinchéd ODM's ticket for the Rongo constituency while John Pesa sailed through in Suna East. Joseph Ndiege won in Suna West constituency.

Dalmas garnered 6,634 votes against his Paul Abuor's 4,458 while Ndiege won with 9,352 votes against former Migori town mayor Peter Masara's 3,581.

Pesa clinchéd the ticket with 9,739 votes against Junet Mohammed who received 4,098 votes ans Peter Jobando's 3,533. Former Migori MP Owino Likow performed dismally with less than 500 votes.
