Kenya: Narok Two Held With 8,000 Fake Ballots

TWO people were yesterday arrested with 8,0000 fake ballot papers for ODM Narok governor. They were nabbed when they tried to present the results from Narok South and Emurua Dikirr constituencies to officials at the tallying centre.

Police saved the two from a mob that wanted to lynch them. Narok police boss Peterson Maelo said that the two are being interrogated by the criminal investigation officers and will be arraigned in court.

"We seized marked fake ODM nomination papers favouring one candidate as the two tried to sneak into the tallying centre," he said.

County returning officer Joseph Lemiso said they realised the ballots papers were not genuine because they were ferried in a sack.

The move delayed the release of results pitting aspiring governors former Kenya Power ICT chief manager Eng Johnson ole Nchoe and former headteacher Francis Nkoitoi.
