Kenya: Raila Adamant That Siaya Primaries Are Fair

Prime minister Raila Odinga has denied having any role in Siaya ODM polls where his brother Finance assistant minister Oburu Oginga is seeking the Governor's ticket.

He said he will respect people's will and work with whoever is elected.

His announcement comes amidst tension in Siaya where Oburu odinga and his opponet William Oduol are both claiming to have won the ODM Governor ticket.

The ODM party primaries have largely been "acceptable" according to the party's National Election Board chairman Franklin Bett. Bett yesterday said that the party was happy with the process in all but three counties, Kisumu, Migori and Homa Bay where anomalies forced the process to be pushed to today.

Successful candidates of various posts continue to be announced in the various parties ahead of the January 21 deadline that IEBC has given all parties after it extended the deadline.
