Nigeria: Airhiavbere Vs Oshiomhole - Judgment Day Jan 23

Benin — Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal will, Wednesday, deliver judgment in the petition against the re-election of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, by the governorsip candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the July 14, 2012 governorship election, Gen. Charles Airhiavbere (rtd).

Airhiavbere had alleged in his petition that Oshiomhole lacked the educational qualification to contest election for the office of governor of Edo State, adding that the said election was marred by alleged irregularities.

Oshiomhole in his defence, argued that he possessed the necessary educational qualification for the election.
