Egyptian Ambassador to the United States Mohamed Tawfiq said on Friday that Egypt enjoys promising opportunities for growth and investment and is about to complete its democratic reform.

During his meeting with a number of representatives of investment and financial companies, Ambassador Tawfiq said that following the election of Egypt's first president in democratic elections, a new constitution was approved in a public vote.

"The only remaining thing is conducting parliamentary elections to end the transitional period," Tawfiq said.

"A great number of investors voiced their interest to get familiar with the political situation in Egypt and the scope of stability in the country," Tawfiq told MENA correspondent in Washington.

He assured the investors that Egypt's economy proved its ability to recover during the last period as the decline in the foreign exchange reserves stopped eight months ago.
