Egypt Says UN Should Adopt Comprehensive Vision to Counter Terrorism

The UN should adopt a comprehensive vision on how to counter terrorism, Egypt's Ambassador to the UN Mootaz Ahmadein Khalil has said.

Terrorism is a threat to world peace and security, he said in statements to the UN Security Council on behalf of members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Khalil also condemned insults to Islam and its figures, stressing the need for the international organization to prohibit disdain for religions, noting this is harmful to world peace and security.

He rejected any such insults under the pretext of freedom of expression.

Khalil talked about the January 25 Revolution that led to a peaceful change of power, thus defying ideologies of terrorists.
