Nigeria: Take Nothing for Granted - Owumi Tells Eagles

Ex-Enugu Rangers hit-man and manager, Davidson Owumi has enjoined Super Eagles never to under rate any opponents, in the African Cup of Nation in South Africa.

Speaking with our correspondent, the former chairman of Nigeria Premier League enjoined the players to prove themselves as true ambassadors of the country, saying the nature of the competition leaves room for the team to make real impact " it's an opportunity for the team to prove themselves worthy having been selected as the best because the cup is open to the the fittest and strongest team to win and to me, Nigeria is one capable of doing this," he said adding, "but to do this players have to be true patriots, show commitment and dedication in the fact that the cup was there to grab where the approach towards their opponents is positive and businesslike."

"First it's going to be more challenging against opponents at times, and two, our team is probably going to have to come back from energy sapping games but once the endurance level is high, they will get over challenges, he said."If there's one thing I know, resilience is what they must have to make it," he stated.
