Egypt: Morsy Inaugurates NGOs Meeting Saturday

President Mohamed Morsi Saturday 19/01/2013 inaugurated a conference of civil society organizations concerned with development and charity.

Themed "Integration", the forum will be attended by representatives of 40 NGOs, presidential spokesman Yasser Ali said.

This forum, the first to extend bridges of cooperation between the government and civil society organizations, aims to empower NGOs to contribute to building Egypt's democracy, Ali said.

This is part of Morsi's program to activate the role of civil society organizations, he noted.

Among the organizations taking part in the forum are Misr al-Khair Foundation, Life Makers and the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS), Ali said.
