Antiquities Minister Mohamed Ibrahim, former foreign minister Mohamed el-Orabi and Consul Sherif el-Bedewi inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion at the Global Village in Dubai on Saturday 19/01/2013.

A campaign titled "For you Egypt" was also launched at the site with the aim of supporting tourism in Egypt and backing its ailing economy.

On the sidelines of the opening, Antiquities Minister Mohamed Ibrahim told MENA the pavilion includes a museum displaying replicas of Egyptian monuments to encourage visitors to come to Egypt.

Plans are underway to hold a permanent exhibition for Egyptian antiquities in Dubai, he said.

Meanwhile, ex-foreign minister and chairman of the "Awlad Baladna" group (sons of our country) Mohamed el-Orabi said the Egyptian pavilion is a platform to promote tourism in Egypt.

Thousands of visitors flocked to the Egyptian showroom after enjoying a performance given by famous Egyptian singer Hakim.
