Uganda: NRM Day Pushed to January 30

This year's NRM Day celebrations have been postponed for reasons that have not yet been communicated.

According to a press release issued on Friday from the office of the President, the celebrations which are held annually on January 26, will be held on Wednesday, January 30.

"The invitation cards earlier issued for the anniversary celebrations will be valid for January 30 event and the program still stands," the statement read.

According to Fred Opolot, the Uganda Media Centre boss, issues concerning whether January 30, will be declared a public holiday will be communicated in due course.

This year's celebrations will be held in Kasese.
