Nigeria: NAF Deploys Two Alpha Jets to Mali

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in continuation of its contingent deployment to Mali has sent two Alpha Jet Aircrafts to operations in support of the ECOWAS intervention Force in the Northern Part of Mali.

The fighter jets, which were authorized for combat operation by the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Alex Badeh, took off Friday from the domestic wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The Air Component Commander, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Tayo Oguntoyinbo led the Alpha Jet Team and flew to Niamey in Niger Republic where they will be based during the Mali Operations.
