Cape Town — Protesters arrested on the 15 January have been denied bail for a second time.
We ask for solidarity in putting pressure on the justice system for the immediate release of Henry Michaels (Chairperson of Mawubuye Land Rights Movement) and all other persons arrested in the protest actions in the struggle for a living wage of R150 per day for farm workers.
They will reappear in court on 28 January and have now been in jail for one week. A group of farm workers and leaders are currently protesting outside the Swellendam Magistrates court for their immediate release.
