The General Auditing Commission (GAC) on Wednesday, 16 January 2013, unveiled its new logo in Monrovia.
The rebranding ceremony, performed by Auditor General (AG) Robert L. Kilby, took place at the Commision's Office on Ashmun.
Auditor General Kilby told his audience during the brief ceremony that in line with international standards and unfolding realities on the ground, it became a necessity for the Commission to rebrand and restructure its logo to be a true reflection of the Commission's legal mandate as well as present day reality.
The decision by the General Auditing Commission for a new logo was against the backdrop of transforming from criminal indictment and prosecution to a more consumer-friendly institution.
'The Commission was not created to indict anyone, but to work with public institutions to ensure accountability of public resources, said Mr. Kilby.
Gracing the rebranding ceremony on Wednesday were Commerce and Industry Minister Miatta Beysolow, the Chairman of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) Cllr. Frances Johnson-Allison, as well as representatives from the Central Bank of Liberia, the European Union and the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), among others.
