Kenya: Mozilla APP Day Set for Next Week

The Nairobi edition of the Firefox OS App Day will be on January 26.For local developers, this is a chance to participate in global Firefox OS App development challenge.

It is an opportunity to learn, hack and celebrate Firefox OS, Mozilla's open source operating system for the mobile web.Interested participants will also be shown how to use the browser-based Firefox OS Simulator to view and test mobile apps on the desktop.

Firefox OS App Days are a chance to kick start creation of apps for the Firefox Marketplace, and represent a great opportunity to build new apps or optimise existing HTML5 apps for Firefox OS, as well as demonstrate your projects to an audience of peers, tech leaders and innovators.

The App days launch on January 19 and continue all through up to February 2. Details of the Nairobi edition can be obtained by contacting firefoxosappdays@mozilla-kenya.org

The event has been organised by local Mozilla representatives in partnership with Deutsche Telecom and Telefónica.Besides Mozilla hack, companies like Google, Nokia, Blackberry have also made major stopovers in Kenya in a bid to tap into the massive innovations talent available.
