Nigeria: Actors Guild Honours Enebeli Elebuwa and Pete Eneh

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on January 9, 2013 paid their last respect to veteran actor the late Enebeli Elebuwa. The president of the Actors Guild, Ibinabo Fiberesima, and other Nollywood celebrities, including family and fans of the late actor converged on a venue in Lagos to honour with a road walk and a candle light procession.

The road walk, which took off from Masha Roundabout to O'Jez Restaurant Stadium Surulere, started at about 5pm. Notable celebrities like Stephanie Okereke Linus, Chief Justus Esiri, Uche Jumbo Rodriguez, Paul Obazele, Richard Mofe Damijo, Segun Arinze, Monolisa Chinda, Rita Dominic, Okey Bakassi, Charles Okafor, Zack Orji, Mahmood Ali Balogu and the Ibru sisters(Gloria & Obukume), who were present, poured accolades on the late actor and how much he had impacted on the industry.

A fan, Otumba Khamileon, had this to say about him: "Andrew has finally checked out! A great veteran and true legend! Thank you, Enebeli Elebuwa for entertaining and brightening our lives with your work. May you find eternal peace with God in I pray Amen"

A tribute night was also held at O'Jez car park the same day where candles were lit as a sign of last respect to the late actor.

In the same spirit of paying last respect to vetran actors, the Actors Guld of Nigeria, through its President, has announced that it would be paying its last respect to the late Pete Eneh on the January 21, in Enugu, where a road walk and a candle light procession would also be held.

The talented actors died in late 2012 after being treated at different hospital for different illnesses. Pete Eneh died in Enugu on Thursday, November 15, few weeks after one of his legs was amputated due to infections. Enebeli died at an India hospital on December 5, after he was believed to be recovering from his illness. He had been bedridden for a reported partial stroke, which he suffered from for close to two years.
