Nigeria: Attack On Emir of Kano, Sacrilegious Assault - PDP

Abuja — THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has described the attack on the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero as a sacrilegious assault on the respected traditional institution.

In a statement signed by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the party while condemning the act, however commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives in the attack, as well as others, killed in such attacks in the country.

Metuh who noted that the party was deeply saddened by the wave of attacks and urged those behind the dastardly acts to have a rethink, stressed that there was no justification for bloodletting.

According to the PDP, Nigerians must learn to live harmoniously with one another, adding that those who have grievances of any kind should seek legitimate means of getting redress instead of resorting to violence.

The PDP also urged security agencies to rise to the occasion and ensure that those behind the attack on the Emir and other Nigerians were brought to book.

The party however called on the Emir not to give up in his selfless contributions to the state and the nation in general.
