Angola: Economic Police Present Group of National Currency Forgers

Uige-The Angolan Economic Police in the northern Uige Province last Friday in Uige City presented a three-member group of national currency (Kwanza) forgers.

According to the police the three individuals, who are from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), were named as Nzuzi Gonçalves, Filipe João and Lando Kiala Guilherme, whose ages are 28, 35 and 28, respectively.

The three individuals were found with 2000 and 1000 kwanza bills, a photocopier and the inks they used in their forgery activities.

Nzuzi, mentioned as the leader of the group and better known as Mical, confirmed the accusations, having also manifested his regret for getting involved in such activity.

He also said he has been involved in money forgery activity for the past three years.

The Police found 96.000 kwanzas in his possession.
