Kenya: 2012 Olympic Team to Return Flag to President

TEAM Kenya to the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games will tomorrow officially return the national flag to President Mwai Kibaki at State House. The athletes are expected to assemble at the Moi Kasarani at 3pm this afternoon.

The teams will also be hosted to a reception by the National Olympic Committee of Kenya this evening at the Pride Inn Hotel. NOCK have asked the athletes to ensure they are in full ceremonial suits/track suits for the State House function. Kenya bagged two gold medals, four silver and five bronze.

Medallists are-- Gold: David Rudisha (800m), Ezekiel Kemboi (3,000m SC); Silver: Sally Kipyego (10,000m), Priscah Jeptoo (marathon), Vivian Cheruiyot (5000m) and Abel Kirui (marathon); Bronze: Timothy Kitum (800m), Vivian (10,000m), Abel Mutai (3000m SC), Thomas Longosiwa (5,000m) and Wilson Kipsang (marathon).
