Ethiopia: Parliament Endorsed Bill to Establish Meles Foundation

The House of People's Representatives approves a bill that intends to establish a foundation in memory of the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, last week. After establishment the foundation will include a mausoleum where the body of the late premier will be laid to rest, as well as a public park and library.

The foundation will be tasked with collection and cataloguing the works of the late premier, and documentary videos on his life and works. The foundation will also have the duty of facilitating conditions for research that focuses on economics, development and democracy, according to the proclamation.

The foundation will also be tasked with the creation of popular and educational works for the establishment of a green economy.
