Nigeria: Court Discharges, Acquits Three Accused of NNPC Pipeline Vandalisation

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday discharged and acquitted three men who were charged for allegedly vandalising a pipeline belonging to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Justice Okechukwu Okeke discharged the accused for lack of diligent prosecution on the part of the prosecuting counsel.

The accused, Alex Ebiseigha, 45, Jamiu Awosun, 48 and Jimoh Balogun, 52 were charged with allegedly vandalising an NNPC oil pipepline, located at Igbonla Epe, Lagos.

Each of the accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
