Luanda — A delegation from the Angolan Foreign Affairs Ministry, led by the incumbent minister, George Rebelo Chikoti, left Luanda on Monday morning for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the African Union Summit, set for 27-28 January.
The Angolan delegation comprises the secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Manuel Augusto, top employees of the mentioned governmental department and members of the country's diplomatic mission to the African Union.
The African Union was created on 11 July 2000 in replacement of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), founded on 25 May 1963.
In the ambit of this summit, the African Union chairman, Beninese president Tomás Boni Yayi, visited Angola a week ago, while the South African Head of State was in the country on 16 January.
