Angola to Produce Million Tons of Foodstuffs Annually

Luanda — Angola plans to produce 25 million tones of foods annually, among cereals, grains and roots, a source with the Foreign Affairs Ministry has announced.

This was said by the director of the office of studies and analysis with mentioned ministry, Francisco da Cruz, who added that the intention is to produce 20 tons of manioc, 2.5 of cereals, 1.5 of potatoes and one tone of beans, peanuts and soya.

The official announced it during a conference of the 30th anniversary of the relations between Angola and China, held jointly between the Angolan embassy in China and the local authorities.

Commenting of cattle, he said the intention is to attend 60 per cent of the country's necessity in chicken, as well as 50 percent of caprine, bovine and ovine.
