Gambian Boxer Mendy in Intercontinental Fight

Gambian boxer Patrick Mendy is lining up for a bout with Danish champions Nielson in the WBA intercontinental fight.

The bout is slated for Esbjerg hoping to knock his opponent who maintains an unbeaten record inside out. Nielsen will be fighting on home soil and also boasts of a number of career victories.

He has seven wins, eight of which have been via on knockouts.

With the scintillating bout billed for February 9th, 22-year-old Patrick brims in confidence ahead of the date.

"I am coming to Denmark to destroy Nielsen, I am Patrick 'The Tiger' Mendy, I will cut Nielsen everywhere and leave my mark on his face", Mendy told Maiden Ahead Advertisers.

"At the end of the day, it was always them in the dust, not me. It will be the same with Mendy. He's going down like all of my opponents before him", Nielsen said of the Gambian boxer.

Mendy shot to prominence when he became the youngest ever winner of the Prizefighter series in 2010.
