Gambia: English Clubs Court Yankuba Ceesay

Yankuba Ceesay is being chased by two English clubs and the Gambian is already understood to be undergoing a trial.

Championship side Charlton Athletics is one of the clubs interested in the sibling of Gambia's former captain Jatto Ceesay.

Lyon Orient, a League One side -equal to third division is also lining up for the Gambia senior team midfielder.

The two clubs sent in scouts to watch the 28-year-old feature of his Estonian side Kalju in November last year, and wasted little time to get him tested.

The ex-Wallidan ace was been monitored by League one club Walsall in 2008 but effort to secure his signature hit a snag mainly for issue of work permit.

Ceesay is the first Gambian to play in the Peruvian League for Atletico Alianza. Quite a journeyman player, he had also had spell in Sweden with Degerfors later the same year.
