Nigeria: AEPB Task Force Disperses Traders, Hawkers At Lugbe

Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) task force team Saturday morning raided some areas in Lugbe and arrested roadside traders as well as hawkers.

The taskforce team, who came in company of armed security personnel, burnt down some kiosks and seized wares displayed by traders/hawkers on roadsides in the area.

A victim, Samson Gift said the action of the taskforce would hamper the progress of people and appealed to the government to provide a place where they can carry on their trading activities.

A recharge card seller lamented that life has not been easy since they were sent packing from Wuse Market and wondered why they were still being chased about by the task force.

An official of the taskforce team told our reporter that the raid was done as part of the mandate of the Board to sanitise the territory.
