Gambia: Mariama T. Jallow Wins BAA Marathon Race Title

Mariama T. Jallow has emerged winner of the 2013 Brikama Athletics Association (BAA) Female 8km marathon race held in Brikama, Kombo Central, in the West Coast Region, at the weekend.

Mariama was seconded by Binta Saidy, while Majula Gitteh finished third.

Samba Bah was crowned champion of the male 15km race title, followed by Andrew Jassey in second position, and Amadou Bah finished third.

The marathon race was first of its kind to be organised by the BAA in Brikama meant to scout out good athletes and form a formidable athletics team that will participate in various competitions in the country.
