Kenya: Kinuthia Thanks Supporters

Former AP commandant Kinuthia Mbugua embarked on a road show to thank his supporters for nominating him to run for Nakuru governor.

Mbugua Roads assistant minister Lee Kinyanjui by 143,487 to 53,137 votes. He will face ODM's Lawrence Bomett and UDF Francis Kiranga.

Mbugua urged the losers in the nominations to help the candidates for the prosperity of Nakuru. While conceding defeat, Kinyanjui said Friday's poll was marred with irregularities and rampant thuggery.

"Despite these irregularities, I offer my congratulations to those who emerged victors in the vote and wish them well going forward towards the March 4 elections," he said in a statement.
