Egypt: Interior Minister Hails Policemen Sacrifices

Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim hailed on Monday 21/1/2013 the sacrifices of the policemen, adding that these men are invaluable as they put citizens' safety before theirs.

This came at his meeting with Central Security Forces personnel.

He has stressed the importance of upgrading the armament of Interior Ministry forces to provide them with better means of protection in face of vicious criminal elements.

Having a well trained, well equipped, professional police force is a must to uphold law and order, he stressed.

From now on the Ministry will prioritize citizens' right to peacefully protest, he said, adding that trust between police and people must be resuscitated.

"I believe the celebration will be peaceful and will reflect how civilized Egyptians are," Ibrahim said in an interview with a TV Channel.

Ibrahim said he is confident Egyptians are patriotic and will not tolerate attempts to bring down the country.
