Police in Mwingi have retrieved a man's body from a tunnel. The body was recovered yesterday in the evening. "The body was found in the evening from a tunnel covered with thickets, said Mwingi police boss Jonathan Wafula.

"The man is said to have been bathing from the tunnel when he drowned." The tunnel is near Muvinga Complex opposite Mwingi country bus station.

Wafula said the man worked at one of the pubs in Mwingi town. He said the man was epileptic and could have had a seizure. He said the man did not have any injuries.

"You know such people are allergic to water," said Wafula. The body has been taken to Mwingi District Hospital mortuary.
