A Presbyterian Central Mission of Africa pastor in Makueni was on Sunday afternoon arrested by the area chief for allegeldy impregnating a schoolgirl.

The Pastor was arrested by Marco Kioko and the Kilungu Administration Police during a church service after the public stormed the church baying for his blood.

"I acted quickly and saved the pastor from the angry wananchi who wanted to lynch him for impregnating the standard seven girl," Chief Kioko told the Star over the phone.

The the 14-year-old girl said the pastor was responsible for the pregnancy after her parents took her to hospital for the test. The parents reported the case to the chiefs office for action and waylaid the pastor during the church service.

Kioko said the pastor was held at the AP police line awaiting transfer to Kilome police station. "I hope the pastor will be arraigned in court tomorrow after the Kilome police prefer charges against him," Kioko said.

"The community had reported to me that they suspected the pastor of sleeping with young girls during the churches evening devotions and we waited for the truth to surface," said the Mobilisation Agency for Paralegal communities in Africa activist said.

He said the pastor preyed on girls during the church Keshas in guise of counseling. "The girl said the pastor slept with during one of the church night keshas when she came for counseling," Mutiso added.
