Kenya: Trans Nzoia Gears Up for Polls

Trans Nzoia is gearing up for the March 4 elections following last week's nominations where most political bigwigs sailed through. URP's Joshua Kutunyi will be defending his Cherangany seat.

Ford Kenya will field Patrick Khaemba to face Forestry minister Noah Wekesa and New Ford Kenya's Kakai Bisau for governor. Former minister Kipruto Kirwa will vie for senator on a New Ford Kenya ticket against Ford Kenya's Henry Ole Ndiema and Businessman Isaac Njenga of TNA.

"We are set for the polls in Trans Nzoia. We are planning to have are very peaceful campaigns to unite our people," said Kutunyi. Meanwhile, TNA will not field aspirants in most parts of the North Rift after most were swept aside by their URP counterparts in the joint Jubilee nominations.
