Kenya: Polytechnic Beat Intercity to Snatch Kothbiro Crown

Kenya Polytechnic clinched the 2012 Kothbiro annual football tournament after trouncing match favourites Intercity FC 2-1 in a thrilling final clash staged at the Nairobi's Ziwani Makaburini grounds.

Goals from former Sony Sugar midfielder Francis Ocholla and Tonny Odhiambo gave the college lads a 2-0 half-time lead. KCB midfielder Edwin Mwaura pulled one back for the Kawangware-based Intercity midway in the second half after a good combination with former Ulinzi Stars midfielder Elvis Ayany, Calvin Masawa, and Felix Muhanji.

The winners received a trophy from Kelly Prince. Earlier at the same venue, the Media XI side team defeated a select side, Ziwani All Stars 2-1. Media XI scored through Erick Ochieng and Timothy Olubulu while the home team pulled one back through John Otieno.
